Driver's Education

In this course approved by the New York State Department of Education and the Department of Motor Vehicles, students will get the proper instruction and training to confidently pass their driver’s test. Students will meet the 24-hour classroom portion of the program by virtual participation in weekly Zoom classes.  Upon the completion of the classroom portion will follow in-car-instruction accomplished under parental supervision.  No school-based driver education program can operate in the car instruction. It will be the parent’s task to instruct their son/daughter. All parents will be receiving assistance in this area. Parents and students will be participating in a Virtual Mandatory Orientation and receive a curriculum, training guidance, and final completion instructions.

Upon completion of the classroom and driving portion of the course, students will receive a certificate MV 285.  This certificate is necessary for establishing a road test and must be submitted to the DMV road examiner. 

This course is recommended for students ages 16 and 17. Students must be 16 by the start of the class and should at least be in the process of getting their permits.
