Nursery

Nursery students love playing, learn new things at an amazing speed, and have lots of energy to spend. Through engaging activities and imaginative play, we create a safe and stimulating environment where their creativity knows no bounds. Having their unique needs in mind, Avenues has curated special classes just for them, respecting their individual needs and social-emotional development.

  • Specialty classes begin directly after school and go until 4 pm (after care is available until 5:15 pm)
  • Stay & Play, our after care program, begins directly after school and goes until 5:15 pm.

Monday

Our Budding Picassos will find inspiration by observing the work of fine artists—from the old masters to the contemporary. We'll explore watercolors, tempera paint, relief printmaking, drawing, collage, paper mache, air dry clay and many other mediums. Students will learn new techniques, build their fine motor skills and self-confidence through artistic problem-solving.

Tuesday

Designated by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage of humanity, Capoeira is a mix of dance, combat and play. It develops motor skills such as balance, strength and visual acuity, while stimulating creativity and self-confidence. Students will learn choreographies while listening to the rhythm of the berimbau, caxixi, tambourine and reco-reco.

Wednesday

Get ready to boogie!! This engaging group will be a sometimes rowdy, sometimes soft singalong style music class where we will stomp our feet, clap our hands, sing, and dance to classic songs loved by children, with some adult favorites thrown in. Exploring volume, tempo, and different moods in music will be explored and celebrated.

Thursday

Our youth soccer program offers a fun, positive, and noncompetitive environment where children will learn the fundamentals of soccer. Our coaches use positive reinforcement to teach skills while building confidence. The focal point for this age group is for children to be comfortable with the ball by further developing soccer skills such as dribbling, shooting and the introduction of passing. Classes include partner activities to promote sharing, listening, respect and cooperation. Physical activities include dynamic exercises like moving with pace, changing directions and lateral agility. These classes will start with a warm-up, continue with skill building, and end with a small-sided scrimmage match.

Little Chefs promotes, through playful and educational activities, the development of healthy habits, the pleasure of preparing meals, taking care of food, and respecting nature. Students will practice oven safety, listening and following directions, creativity, responsibility, teamwork, and measuring. Recipes include sweet and savory options with fun favorites like cookies, blondies, muffins, pancakes, pizza rolls, and mac and cheese, as well as more more sophisticated recipes like carrot cake bars, energy bites, veggie sushi bowls, parfaits, eggless egg bites, and granola bars, to name a few. All recipes are allergen-free.

Friday

At Little Rookies, we believe in the power of baseball to positively impact children and support their physical and personal development. Beyond establishing a foundation for proper baseball techniques, our youth baseball program is designed to help children build self-confidence, embrace teamwork, develop sportsmanship and learn the importance of physical activity, all while having fun! We set out to create a better youth baseball program that empowers child development, shapes future athletes, and brings baseball to young children across the country.
